This pen has found a home. This page stays up as a permanent record of the restoration.
This vintage Esterbrook SJ fountain pen features Esterbrook’s distinctive green marbled finish in the slimmer SJ size of the classic J-series.
The pen is fitted with an Esterbrook Renew-Point 2668 nib, a firm medium nib intended for general-purpose writing. Esterbrook’s interchangeable threaded Renew-Point system allows the nib unit to be easily removed and replaced with other compatible Esterbrook nibs.
The pen was restored to working condition, including servicing of the lever-filling system. It was cleaned, polished, reassembled, and writing-tested to confirm proper filling, ink flow, and nib performance.
The green finish retains attractive depth and variation, with normal signs of age consistent with a vintage writing instrument.
Condition
Restored vintage condition with normal age-related cosmetic wear. Green marbled finish retains good depth and visual character. Filling system operates properly and the 2668 nib was writing-tested after restoration.
