This vintage Esterbrook SJ fountain pen features the rich red marbled finish of Esterbrook’s classic J-series in the slimmer SJ size.
The pen is fitted with an Esterbrook 1554 Renew-Point nib, a firm fine point intended for controlled, precise everyday writing. Esterbrook’s interchangeable threaded nib system was one of the defining features of the J-series and allows compatible Renew-Point nib units to be easily exchanged.
The pen was restored to working condition, including servicing of the lever-filling system. It was cleaned, polished, reassembled, and writing-tested to confirm proper filling, ink flow, and nib performance.
The red finish retains strong depth and variation, with normal signs of age appropriate for a vintage writing instrument.
