A full-size Sheaffer Balance Sovereign Lifetime fountain pen from approximately 1938–1942, finished in Golden Brown Striated celluloid with gold-colored trim and Sheaffer's white dot.
The golden-brown stripes run through the cap and barrel, creating a particularly attractive appearance under the light. The pen retains its original two-tone 14K Sheaffer Lifetime nib and translucent ink-viewing section.
Condition
The pen presents very well, with strong color, polished surfaces, and attractive trim. The manufacturer's barrel imprint remains legible. As a vintage writing instrument, some age-appropriate surface wear may be present. The ink-viewing section has visible age-related coloration.
Restoration
The lever-filling mechanism has been serviced with a new ink sac. The pen was cleaned and polished, and the nib received two rounds of careful tuning. The filling mechanism and writing performance have been tested.
Known Flaws
No known remaining cracks, structural defects, or mechanical issues. As a vintage writing instrument, minor signs of prior use may remain under close inspection.
